SEO Expert
This role is for someone who has already been the person in the room who can tell technical, content and commercial search apart. Five years is the floor because clients come with history, migrations and half-true reports. You will own the search diagnosis, the work that follows, and the honesty of the numbers.

What you will own
- Run technical, on-page and content audits that name the constraint, not a hundred undifferentiated issues.
- Build and maintain search programmes on WordPress and marketing sites: information architecture, templates, internal links and the content the query actually needs.
- Work with developers on crawl, indexation, Core Web Vitals and structured data so fixes ship, not sit in a slide.
- Brief writers and designers when the page is the problem, and say so when ads are buying the same intent the site should already own.
- Report in Search Console and GA4 terms a founder can use. Rankings without enquiry quality are not the story.
What you need to bring
- At least five years practising SEO on live sites, including work you can walk through from diagnosis to change.
- You can read a crawl, a log sample or a Search Console export and decide what is worth doing this month.
- You have shipped technical fixes with developers: canonicals, indexation, migrations, template-level title and schema work.
- You can brief content that answers a query instead of padding a word count.
- You understand how SEO, paid search and the landing page share a funnel, and you do not pretend they are separate companies.
- You write recommendations a non-SEO owner can act on.
Useful, not required
- Deep WordPress experience, including how themes and plugins damage crawl and speed.
- Comfortable with Screaming Frog, Sitebulb or an equivalent crawler, plus Looker Studio.
- You have handled a migration or a redesign without losing the pages that already earned demand.
