Shopify Performance

Reduce the storefront overhead that slows customers down.

Performance diagnosis for Shopify themes, apps, scripts and images, aimed at the pages that take traffic. Scores are treated as evidence, not as a promise.

Why stores get slow

Most Shopify slowness is accumulated overhead, not one bad image.

Shopify speed work starts with the theme, the app stack, third-party scripts and media on collection and product templates. Some limits belong to apps and checkout surfaces you do not fully control. We measure the pages that sell, name what we can change, and say when a rebuild would be cheaper than another round of patches. Perfect Lighthouse scores are not a deliverable.

Typical constraints

Performance problems usually arrive with the app list.

  • 01Collection pages hitch on a phone after the last campaign app was added.
  • 02Hero media and unused sections ship on every template.
  • 03Scripts from reviews, chat and pixels fire before the product can be seen.
  • 04Core Web Vitals look fine on homepage and fail on money collections.
  • 05Nobody owns the difference between theme cost and app cost.
  • 06A previous speed pass added more plugins to hide the first ones.

How performance work is run

Measure the selling templates. Then remove overhead.

Homepage-only testing is how stores stay slow where it matters.

  1. 01

    Measure

Field and lab data on the URLs that take traffic, not only the theme demo.

  2. 02

    Attribute cost

Theme, apps, media and tags are separated so the fix has an owner.

  3. 03

    Remove or defer

Unused sections, duplicate apps and eager scripts go first.

  4. 04

    Recheck

The same templates are measured again. Remaining platform limits are written down.

What you receive

A diagnosis with a budget, then the changes that fit it.

We do not start by installing another performance app.

  1. 01

    Template performance pass

Home, collection and product templates measured on a mid-range phone.

  2. 02

    Theme and app inventory

What each app and section costs, and which ones do a real job.

  3. 03

    Media and script budget

Images, fonts and third-party tags with an owner.

  4. 04

    Implemented fixes

The theme and configuration changes that fit the diagnosis.

  5. 05

    Residual limits

What Shopify, apps or checkout will still constrain after the pass.

When this is the right entry

Speed work is for stores that already sell and have become heavy.

  • A Shopify store whose collection pages lag after years of apps.
  • A team whose paid landings feel slower than the ad promised.
  • A store that failed Core Web Vitals on product templates.
  • A theme that ships unused sections on every page.
  • A rebuild conversation that should start with a diagnosis, not a redesign.

What we judge

Success is a faster path on the pages that sell, with limits named.

  • Less storefront overhead

Theme and app weight are reduced where they were not earning their keep.

  • Clearer ownership

The next app is judged against a budget, not added by habit.

  • Honest residual risk

Third-party and checkout limits are documented instead of hidden.

  • A decision on rebuild vs patch

If the theme cannot hold a budget, we will say a rebuild is the smaller programme.

Related work

Performance work is shown when clients clear it.

We do not publish invented score deltas. Field data belongs to the store that produced it.

Published case studies will appear here when they are cleared.

Questions

Buying questions, answered directly.

  • No. Apps, apps' scripts, fonts and checkout surfaces set a ceiling. We improve what the theme can control and name the rest.

Next move

If apps and assets are slowing the path to cart, start with the overhead.

Share the live theme and the templates that take traffic. We will diagnose before anyone installs another speed app.
